Established in 2014 as a division of Welch Foods, Inc. (Welch’s), Welch’s Global Ingredients Group offers grape juice expertise and solutions to companies across the globe. Our primary ingredients are made in the USA and include Concord and Niagara grape single-strength juices, juice concentrates and purées, as well as a range of powders and fruit bites. Our sales territories are North, Central and South America; Asia, with special emphasis in Japan, Korea and China; and EMEA. In EMEA and China we operate through our distribution partner, WILD. Welch’s is the processing and marketing subsidiary of the National Grape Cooperative. Located across America and in Ontario, Canada, the cooperative’s approximately 825 family farmers own the company and grow the delicious and inherently healthy Concord Grape used in Welch’s juices and other grape-based products. Welch’s is committed to research and development that will meet the growing demand for products that address consumers’ health and nutrition needs. Welch’s products are sold throughout the United States and in approximately 40 countries around the globe.

Zach Longhini at the company tells FoodIngredientsFirst how Welch’s is improving its marketing on the Concord grape and is also looking into health and well-being benefits of Concord grape consumption, such as potential cardiovascular benefits and how it can help with well-being, exercise health and recovery. “We’re looking into cognitive health and mental health benefits too, trying to better understand how it works there as well as exercise health and recovery so 'how can the grape help from those standpoints?' The Concord grape is a superfruit and we’re constantly trying to get that word out,” he says.
23 Aug 2016 --- Welch’s Global Ingredients Group’s mission to harness the goodness of the Concord grape for a world of new applications has stepped up a gear with the launch of new FruitWorx Concord Grape Juice Powder. The powder is made with a proprietary dehydration process that gently removes all the water from the fruit juice but captures its natural wholesomeness and retains its bold flavor and rich purple color. The resulting product is a free-flowing, soluble, low water activity powder, ideal for adding a unique and compelling twist to a host of applications.
