Danone Q1 sales beat forecasts, strong infant formula performance in China

18 Apr 2018 --- French food giant Danone has exceeded market expectations in its first-quarter sales growth with a very solid performance in specialized nutrition driven by infant formula products sales in China. Danone report consolidated sales of €6 billion (US$7.5 billion) in the first-quarter, which is a 10.8 percent increase on a reported basis and up 4.9 percent like-for-like.

New EU acrylamide legislation comes into force

11 Apr 2018 --- New European Union legislation comes into force today (April 11) concerning the amount of acrylamide in foods with “benchmark” levels being set for various products. Passed by the EU last year, today marks the beginning of the law which limits the amount of acrylamide allowed in packaged foods and forces manufacturers to closely examine and reduce acrylamide levels in products.

Marfrig Global Foods beefs up with 51 percent stake in National Beef Packing Company
