Puratos Opens New Innovation Center in Miami
18 May 2017 --- The grand opening took place on Thursday, May 4th, 2017. Puratos moved its Southeast headquarters from its former location in Miami to a brand new facility in order to better serve the expanding Southeast region and our Caribbean customers. The investment of $1.5M includes offices, a new warehouse with double its former capacity and a state-of-the-art, 3,000 square foot Innovation Center.
Daniel Malcorps, the Puratos Group CEO spoke to FoodIngredientsFirst: “The new location in Miami will offer the Southeast region of the U.S. and our Caribbean customers a state of the art facility with the following new features: A new Innovation Center, also known as our INC, that will provide a space for presentations, seminars and workshops. Our new warehouse is double its former capacity, and has a cold room with a cooler and freezer, and a dry warehouse. The temperature controlled cold room is critical for our Southeastern customers.”
According to Malcorps, “Several jobs will be added moving forward as we continue our rapid regional expansion across the US.”
“The variety of applications that can be made in the INC will span across bakery, fine patisserie, pastry and chocolate, with a tempering room specifically built for tempering our chocolate products,” he explains.
The festivities began with a local Latin dance group that led Puratos customers and attendees into a tour of the facility. The tour began with an introduction into Taste Tomorrow, Puratos’ proprietary research to better understand the demands of today’s consumers. From there, guests were led into the Innovation Center, where INC Supervisor & Technical Advisor, Richard Gersper, presented Puratos products from bakery, patisserie, and chocolate. Guests then finished their tour in our new temperature controlled warehouse, where Daniel Malcorps (Puratos Group CEO), Karel Zimmermann (President of the Puratos Corporation, North America), Francis D’Hoore (Vice President of Regional Accounts & Distribution), Pieter Trap (General Manager of the Southeast Region) and Pat Pilla (Director of Caribbean Exports) inaugurated the new building with a ribbon cutting.
A statement from Puratos read: “Our mission is to help our customers become even more successful with their business as we continue our rapid regional expansion in the U.S. With this new Innovation Center, we want to inspire our customers with better ideas based on consumer expectations, support them in the development of their products and help them solve technical challenges. This is one of many investments Puratos Corporation is making nationwide. We are excited to partner with Miami and the state of Florida to ensure success.”
