Nestle Cuts Sugar from Cereal Favorites

05 Jul 2017 --- Nestlé Breakfast Cereals, made by Cereal Partners Worldwide (UK), are set to reduce a further 10 percent of sugar content across its cereal range by the end of 2018. The move will see around 225 million fewer teaspoons of sugar in the nation’s diet as part of an ongoing program to reduce average sugar across the entire product portfolio.

Weetabix Invests in UK Manufacturing Sites but Warns of Potential Price Hike

31 Jan 2017 --- Cereal giant Weetabix has announced a £30 million (US$37 million) capital investment program across its British manufacturing sites which will create a new production capacity by 2018 to keep pace with increasing sales domestically and overseas. The investment comes on the back of Weetabix’s UK market share for cereals and drinks rising from 15.3% to 16.4% in the past year.

FDA Proposes Limit for Inorganic Arsenic in Infant Rice Cereal

04 Apr 2016 --- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is taking steps to reduce inorganic arsenic in infant rice cereal, a leading source of arsenic exposure in infants. Relative to body weight, rice intake for infants, primarily through infant rice cereal, is about three times greater than for adults. Moreover, national intake data show that people consume the most rice (relative to their weight) at approximately 8 months of age.
