BRC publishes new guidance on food packaging

22 Aug 2017 --- Brand and consumer protection organization, BRC Global Standards has published the first edition of food packaging materials guidance. It’s geared towards achieving a common understanding, terminology and point of reference for good practice for businesses involved in the delivery of food and to prevent substances from packaging materials from getting into food.

Campbell Soup Sales Slip in Q2, Impacted by Fresh Foods

20 Feb 2017 ---- Campbell Soup has reported lower-than-expected quarterly sales, hurt by weak demand for its beverages, broth and condensed soups, sending its shares down by 8 percent. The fall was Campbell's biggest percentage loss in over eight years, after the soupmaker also said it did not expect sales to rise in its C-Fresh unit in fiscal 2017.

Campbell’s Soup Fourth Quarter Losses Largely Down to Disappointing Fresh Division Business

02 Sep 2016 --- Campbell’s Soup has reported losses and with “disappointing” results from the fresh division Campbell Fresh suffering the worst as operating profits fell by 62 percent. The US iconic soup giant has released its financial information for the fourth-quarter and full year. Earnings fell by two percent to US$235 million in the company’s fourth quarter.

Campbell Sets Mid 2017 Target to Ditch BPA Linings in North America

29 Mar 2016 --- Campbell Soup has set a target of mid- 2017 to switch to selling cans that do not use the chemical bisphenol A (BPA) linings in the US and Canada. Campbell first disclosed that it was intending to shift away in 2012 from BPA linings, which is used to strengthen plastic and protects food from contacting metal, saying it was responding to customer concern.

Tetra Pak Launches Package Made Entirely From Plant Based, Renewable Packaging Materials

16 Oct 2014 --- Tetra Pak, the world leader in food processing and packaging solutions, has announced the launch of the industry’s first carton made entirely from plant based, renewable packaging materials. The new Tetra Rex carton will be the first in the market to have bio-based low-density polyethylene (LDPE) films and bio-based high-density polyethylene (HDPE) caps, both derived from sugar cane, in addition to Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paperboard.
