Pinnacle Foods Closes Evol Foods Manufacturing Plant in Colorado
22 Aug 2016 –-- Pinnacle Foods is to close its Evol Foods manufacturing plant in Boulder, Colorado in the first quarter of 2017 and is shifting production to its plant in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The closure of the plant will impact 85 jobs however Pinnacle Foods said it wold employ 25 new full-time staff at its Fayetteville plant.
“While it’s never an easy decision to close a manufacturing plant, this action will ensure the long-term success of the Evol brand,” said Mike Wittman, Pinnacle Foods executive vice president and chief supply chain officer.
“We are thankful to the employees at the Evol plant and value the many contributions they have made to the business.”
Pinnacle Foods added the Evol Foods frozen meals and snacks brand to its portfolio this year as part of its purchase of Boulder Brands.
It cited limited manufacturing capacity at the site in Boulder as the reason for the closure.
It said, though , certain Evol products will continue to be produced at contract manufacturers with specialized capabilities at the site.
Pinnacle Foods pointed out that the state of Arkansas has committed to support Pinnacle Foods in the form of grants and incentives in recognition of the economic benefit it brings to the state.
Pinnacle Foods employs around 5,400 employees and includes brands such as Duncan Hines baking mixes and Western salad dressing.
