23 Jan 2017 --- Mondelez International is selling Vegemite and most of its other grocery brands in Australia and New Zealand to Australian dairy company Bega Cheese for $347m. Vegemite, a food spread made from leftover brewers’ yeast extract which is revered by its fans, is returning to the country where it was founded over ninety years ago. Other companies mentioned are Emmi, Givaudan, Arla, Novozymes and The Hain Celestial Group.

The Week in Business (29 Aug 2016)

29 Aug 2016 --- The UK High Court has given the green light to a proposal from SAB Miller to ease investor concern over its $104m takeover by AB InBev by splitting its shareholders into two groups. Shareholders BevCo and Altria Group, which own around 40 percent of SABMiller's shares, will be hived off into a separate entity from other shareholders when the deal is voted on September 28.For the deal to be approved, both votes would need approval from 75 percent of shareholders. Other companies mentioned are Arla, USDA and Fonterra.

22 May 2016 --- Bayer has revealed that its made a $62bn cash bid for US agribusiness Monsanto, citing the deal as a "compelling opportunity”. Monsanto revealed last week that it had received an "unsolicited" approach from Bayer about the deal but said there was "no assurance" that a deal would get done. The German company said its offer price was a "substantial premium for Monsanto shareholders", which was 37 percent above the closing share price on May 9th. The combination of the two companies would create the world's largest seed and crop company. Other companies mentioned are Arla, Campbell Soup and Hormel Foods.
