Trend-spotting offers a useful signpost for future product development and marketing, but it is only one part of the story. Just as important is how to translate those trends into real-world food and beverage products that consumers will be eager to buy. In this report, produced by Welch’s Global Ingredients Group, we explore and analyze some of the most compelling global trends for 2018 and highlight the potential for creating new products in sync with them.
12 Feb 2018 --- Welch's Global Ingredients Group has welcomed the news that “mindful choices” is set to be 2018’s top food and beverage trend – and says it believes this could be the Year of the Concord Grape as a result of this forecast.
29 Aug 2017 --- Concord grapes are a great way for manufacturers to “go purple,” according to supplier Welch’s Global Ingredients Group. Purple has been earmarked as one of this year’s major food and beverage trends and colored purple foods are popping up everywhere. The power of purple goes beyond color alone and often indicates nutrient density and antioxidants.
18 Aug 2017 --- According to new research commissioned by Welch’s Global Ingredients Group, just 18 percent of Americans can name more than three types of purple fruits and vegetables. This is in spite of nearly three quarters (73 percent) claiming that they know purple fruits and vegetables are widely available, and 63 percent saying they are aware that they should eat more colorful produce.
