Agrana reports strong Q1-Q3 results, notably higher than previous year

11 Jan 2018 --- In the first three quarters of the 2017/18 financial year, Agrana Beteiligungs-AG achieved slight year-on-year growth of 2.2 percent in group revenue to €2,010.6 million (US$2,400.4 million) (Q1-Q3 prior year: €1,967.5 million (US$2,349.8 million)). Profit for the period rose to €171.6 million (US$204.9 million), an increase of 24.6 percent from the year-earlier result of €137.7 million (US$164.4 million).

26 Jul 2017 --- Agrana Fruit, part of the Agrana Group, has signed an investment contract for the construction of a new fruit processing plant in China. Agrana Fruit, which has already been operating one factory in Dachang, is now expanding its business activities in the region, by building a second plant in South Eastern China, around 180 km away from Shanghai.

Agrana Profits Sweeten in Q1

13 Jul 2017 --- Agrana has kicked off the 2017/18 financial year with a strong rise in EBIT. The group’s revenue increased slightly to €684.2 million in the first quarter ended 31 May 2017, up 2.8 percent from the first three months of the prior year. EBIT, at €69.8 million, was up by a compelling 48.5 percent from the year-earlier quarter. The growth in the group’s EBIT was driven especially by the very positive ethanol price trend in the starch segment, but also by better earnings in the sugar segment. In the fruit segment as well, EBIT exceeded the year-ago level.

Agrana Plans to Double Wheat Starch Capacity in Austria

10 Jul 2017 --- The Supervisory Board of Agrana Beteiligungs-AG has approved plans to double the production capacity of the wheat starch factory in Pischelsdorf, Lower Austria. The total investment volume will amount to €92 million ($104.6 million).

Over the first quarter, AGRANA’s EBIT increased from €47.0 million in Q1 2016/17 to €69.8 million. Revenues during the three months also rose slightly, from €665.5 million to €684.2 million.
